As an architecture firm, we have a problem with excessive consumption and the biggest lever to reduce consumption is to reduce what is built. Do you agree with this value?

Small Home *Yes! Small suits me.No! The bigger the better.Small homes are our jam! The house sizes in Australia have been on the rise for so many years and we are in a position to work with smaller homes to ensure that only a reasonable amount of resources are consumed. Ideally limiting bedrooms to 9m² and masterbedrooms to 16m² and trying to keep the total floor area to 22.5m² per occupant is what we see as optimal practice. Do you agree with this value?

Healthy Home *Yes! I want to know how my home performs.No! It's not something I care about.Health is Wealth in our world! Ideally we want you to be healthy in your living environment. We work through implementing airtightness strategies and understanding how to manage moisture (whether it be mechanical or passive management strategies) and make a further analysis to ensure heat is balanced throughout the year. Do you agree with this part of the process?

Knowing what you need *Yes! I would like to know how I can live more efficiently.No! I want to be able to have three or four bathrooms.Knowing what you need is imperative to an effective and efficient design. Rather then designing by plan based on individual needs, we tend to look at the overarching and shared needs of the household. Removing 'stuff' before creating extra 'storage', knowing that you don't need the second pantry or ensuite before committing to a large home etc. etc. Do you agree with this part of our design process?
