Choice window placement and area allows for a great balance between bright and shaded interiors.

Overlapping roof forms, and changes to cladding colour add simple, effective texture and variety.

At this residential home, the external form wraps over itself to create two 'shells'.

The various angles of the roof on this home cascade together to allow for water catchment.

A canopy of colour and variety welcome residents and guests into this home.

A lantern-like structure projects from the roof form allowing light to cascade generously into to the kitchen and living space. External cladding in Corten steel will weather and age beautifully.

In plan, the house appears as a series of overlapping squares. The lantern sits in the center above the roof, with pergolas stretching out to the East and West.

The mass of 470mm thick Huff’n’Puff strawbale walls, coated in lime render and cladding, is supported by a solid base, and capped with a border of corten steel cladding.

The external paving, pergolas and planter boxes allow residents to enjoy the both the inside and outside of their home, and move easily between the two.
